March 19 & 26 Women’s Beginner Mountain Bike Clinic

Register today to learn the fundamentals of mountain biking. This 2 session class will be held at Wakefield Park.  We will go over proper bike fit and positioning, asending and descending techinques, correct braking and shifting, as well as cornering.  We may also cover going over small obstacles depending on the class needs.  All participants MUST bring a mountain bike in good working condition and a helmet.  Please bring water.  Please email info@thebikelane.com for more information. 

 March 22 Sunday: Basic Bike Maintenance Class

Register today for our Basic Bike Maintenance Class at The Bike Lane in Burke.  You will learn how to repair a flat tire and how to do minor trailside repairs. Please bring your bike to class.


March 26 Thursday: Tour de Cure Kick Off Party

The clinic will include information such as: How to get involved in Xterra events, What to expect from the race,  How to train/prepare for the race, What kind of gear to have, And much more

April 9 Thursday: Doing your first Century Ride Clinic

Register here if you have you been thinking of doing your first century this year.  Now is the time to start preparing.  Come join us at The Bike Lane in Reston Town Center from 7- 9 pm as we go over everything you need to know about preparing to do that first 100 Miler!  You will learn about local centuries, how to start training, how to get your bike and your body ready; as well as the dos and don’ts to your first century.

April 16 Thursday: Commuter Night at The Bike Lane Reston

Register here to learn everything you need to know to get you there by bike!  We will spend the evening going over commuting essentials.  Learn about the proper gear, visibility, and safety.  Also, learn how to plan your commute.  Do you or your employer know about the Bike Commuter credit?  We’ll discuss this and more.  A representative from the Fairfax County Bicycle Coordinators office will be on hand to show you how to use the local bus system to carry your bike and show off the new Fairfax County Bike Map!  One for every participant (while supplies last).

April 23 and 30: Women’s Beginner Mountain Bike Clinic

May 28 Thursday: Bicycling Essentials at The Bike Lane in Reston

Please register here to learn everything you need to know to get you riding in 2009. You will learn how to prepare for a ride, what to bring, and how to make sure your bike is ready to roll.  You will also learn the basics of  cycling gear;  everything from what to wear, to what kind of lube to use, to how much pressure you need in your tires.  We will also go over how to fix a flat.
