DA Leniency for Accused Hit-and-Run Driver Outrages Cycling Community

 

 

He’s getting off because he’s rich and it could affect his work. Driving down Highway 6 near Vail, Colorado, on July 3, money manager Martin Erzinger hit cyclist Steven Milo with his black Mercedes-Benz, fled the scene, and then called a mechanic, not 911, leaving Milo with injuries to his spinal cord, brain, knee, and shoulder blade. Now District Attorney Mark Hurlbert has announced he’s charging Erzinger with two misdemeanor counts, rather than felonies, because felonies would negatively impact Erzinger’s job. ..
